Saw a pic today of one found in Bath...Theres also one in Caerleon museum.

Has anyone ever done a Roman style penknife?

Don't they just look like your standard peasant knife design, but with different handle materials? I know some had a partial tang like the svord peasant and some just rotate freely.

The one in the pics handle was ivory but the one in the museums was fretted brass (often the only bit to survive)

The world keeps impressing me all the time :) had a laugh when I saw the Roman swiss army knife! How cool is that!!! :D :D

sorry, don't know anything other than "German 3rd century". I found the picture somewhere and got that info in the file name :( I think it was from a forum post somewhere else that was posted by a maker
