A fair while back I was fortunate enough to acquire a excellent German made butchers glove for a couple of quid on a flea market. I had many years of use from it but from hanging it near a window in the shed I managed to perish the red plastic cuff and wrist strap, rendering it unusable.
Anyroad, I finally got around to mending it , picked the last of the plastic and glued then sewed folded leather at the cuff to trap the links of the mail and made a leather strap for the wrist.
I dipped the leather bits in hot beeswax to give them some rigidity and to waterproof them.
