Hi Steve
Next wknd we can meet from 6pm on the 10th and stay through to the Sunday. and the same goes for the weekend of the 24th - 26th.

Depending how many ppl come but i think next wekend will just be a chill out in the hammocks wknd do some bushcraft stuff and enjoy.

Hi Steve
Is that for the 10th or the 24th?

No worries mate, anyone else is still welcome to come either wknd.... I might just go and sit in the woods on me ownsome for the weekend anyway.

I would be up for coming out that way for a weekend jolly. I can't this time around (irrespective of particular dates) as I'm tied up every weekend until the middle of october

keep the momentum and we should be able to keep these get togethers going regularly :)

Is that you coming as well then Chris?
Looks like we are going to go for the wknd of the 24th - but if anyone wants to come out on the 10th also then that is fine, just let me know.

Hey guys!
I've had a bit of a busy few weeks, just got back on here. I'm pretty sure I should be ok for the meet of the 24th, haven't seen you all for a while! I'll pop my name on the list on to'other thread.

Sounds like we are gonna have a few ppl so all should be good.
I went on a reccy of one of the woods today and all was fine - depending on numbers and who has what set up will depend on where we can set up camp.

Hey jay, not going to be able to make this w/end after all as I totaled my car so I have no transport for a bit! Sorry about that mate, still I should b ok for the 24th!!

Hey mate, In answer to your question, I don't think that enough of us r free at the same time to make a regular meet viable at the moment, also venue is an issue, if we had good and regular access to a woodland and at least two of us were prepaired to organise and host a regular meet then IT could work out, as Ashley does down in Cornwall, but as I'm sure he will Agee, it takes time access and commitment to get things moving regularly, unfortunatly no one in the Devon area has taken up the challange so far!!! But we all live in hope! So watch this space

We are getting a regular (every other month) meet going in Somerset...
We have a woodland we can use and possibly a couple of alternative woodlands we can use for a bit of variety.

We have our second meet this weekend and if any of you Denonshire yacht want to come and join us you're more than welcome.

I would offer to host a regular meet up at my place, but my diary tends to be so random I can't commit to regular dates

I'll mention it here, incase anybody has missed my other thread ;) I'm having a working week in the woods at the end of May. The end of it (or saturday night) we can have a meet up around a campfire for everyone (helpers or just visiting is fine) Camping is fine as well, but no bloody stupid inflatable tents! :twak:

Hi Dave

What's the dates? Are hammocks ok?
What clearing do you need doing?

24th to the 30th of may will be when I'm busy doing stuff, so anybody during the week that feels like it, otherwise the weekend and we'll have a proper campfire meet up on the saturday (29th).

http://bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56407 is the thread that I mentioned ;) The clearing is mostly dead wood. I've a whole area of the woods that hardly gets used because there are a bunch of downed trees across the top and it stops folk from venturing past. They are ripe for the firewood picking :D If anybody happens to have chainsawing skills of the tree climbing variety then I have a couple of projects there too ;)

and yes, there are lots of trees in the woods so hammocks are fine (as long as it's not the banana variety!).
