Get well soon Rick. Sorry to hear your news. I'm sure it will give you time to write substantial stickies on the merits of the right stove in the right conditions.

...COPD or cancer that to be honest I thought it might well be.

I think anyone who has had ,or has, a serious long-term tobacco habit and who wakes up one morning w/ chest pain automatically thinks, "Uh-oh, big 'C' time"!
In the circumstances, the 'curables', ie., pneumonia, tb, etc are not that bad.

Put your feet up. Relax, and treat it as a bit of a holiday.

Did you have the small or large bronchoscopy?

[The one with the machine, where they are taking samples from the exterior wall of your lung? Or the one with the surgeon standing behind you, feeding it through your nostril?
Did you see the tube going down your throat, and into your bronchial airways on the plasma screen?]

Bloody uncomfortable. Worst thing is when the surgeon doesnt get a decent sample, and they come back with negative histology, and youve been through it for nothing......

Naa Ian, the thought of cancer came when I saw the video of the insides of my lungs mate, not a nice thing to see, oh, and the Doctor sort of mentioned it early on as a possibility :(

Off to Hospital later on to get the first months supply of horse pills and my grandson will now need an X-Ray and screening of course.

I'll put you in the next wood with Graham, John and David in October then and anymore cheek and you'll be on latrine duty all weekend;)

Cheer up.

at least its curable these days.

I mentioned this to an old friend and she told me when she was a child her aunt had to be put in an isolation hospital.
