re Secrets of the Castle bbc series.
anyone else watching the new bbc series? i am enjoying it but i am alittle worried about the information on some aspects, for instance in this weeks episode (2) they are making a crossbow medieval style, when making the yew limbs they are puching a spoke shave, now am i right in saying thats incorrect? shouldnt it be 'drawn' ats what i have always done when using one, also when using a draw knife they are pulling but into the end-grain,i am sure thats incorrect. maybe the boyer normally uses modern powertools and was just trying to look authentic?
