Rats and mice

Hi
Have a problem with rats and mice and looks like voals in my roof
just cleaned out all the old glass fibre and refilled with new
Noticed rat droppings under a board on the new lagging so put a trap and had a hit the first night
Purchased more and set some mouse traps and had 3 voals
Dont want to use poison as I dont want the smell of a rotting rat that I can not find ,at least with traps you can check every few days
Has anyone used the electronic device to plug into a socket which emits a sound to keep them away ,and do they work?

We have used them and I think they work quite well. We used to have a problem with mice in our old house up in the loft and in behind the kitchen cupboards. We put 3 of those things in the house and at this time of year when the mice tend to move inside they appeared to of stayed away.
