rabbit shooting - questions from a beginner

Get a cheap 10 million (or whatever is bright and cheap) candle power search spot light and go at night, they stare at the light, aim and pull the trigger. With lamping if you're a poor shot its going to be a numbers game and there are lots of rabbits to shot at, so you're bound to hit something.
This is the part I take issue with, for the record I've been shooting since I was about eight and have worked for many years on farms and have carried out pest control for many years. My point is that using even just rabbits as some sort of mobile target is in my opinion disgusting, also if you shoot AT rabbits and miss then you'll just end up with lamp shy rabbits meaning that pest control becomes much harder.
