Hi,

At the buckle, the Woodlore belt has the leather folds to the outside, going to the front of the belt, exposing the backside of the leather.

Is there a material advantage to that?

Not sure, but it means you don't have the double thickness and edge on the inside that could dig into you. Comfort perhaps?

Interesting answers. I also thought it could be that the extra friction (rough leather against rough leather) could reduce the chance (already quite slim) to have the free length slip out of the loop. But the comfort aspect ("double thickness and edge on the inside that could dig into you") makes most sense.
Thx!
