Yup, as Sapper says - you need a PC/laptop and then download (for free) iTunes. Then you can transfer you CDs on to your pooter and then put them on you iPod/MP3 player.

With a PC it's fairly easy. Make sure your PC is connected to the internet, start Itunes, plug your Ipod in, put in the CD, voilá. Itunes finds the cover, song titles, etc.

There is a big difference between an ipod and an mp3 player

True enough. If you use iTunes for your (non Apple) MP3 player you have to ensure you convert all files to MP3, since iTunes automatically saves them in the Apple format (AAC).
