My word! Has anyone else noticed how quiet Mr F has been since he announced this comp?

Could he be trying to put off parting with cash to post a freebie to the winner? :p

:evilangel:

How many times you want to hit Decorum?

Well certain factors needed to be taken into consideration.

With an open palm, as in bitc# slapping him, I would say 55 until your palm got too tender from the stinging sensation.

With a closed fist I'm guessing 15 tops. Too many bones in the hand to break against all that solid bone of the head, Decorum's head especailly so. But target they abdomen and I'd guess that number would be up to the mid 40's.

With a baseball bat? Well, what does it matter, because after the first 5 or 6 Decorum would have lost interest in keeping count of them anyway.

One more post for the big one John. Shame you didn't get a quid for every post you make innit?

Nice comp mate, and your book's great. I have a copy of it already but like has been said a signed copy from BCUK's resident demi god would be great!

Well - here it is ...my 10 000th post!
Before I anounce the winner I would like to point out a couple of things....
1 - It has cost me the equivalent of about £200.00 in "give aways" (not inc P&P) to reach this point
2 - I have had great fun with this comp
3 - This comp has made me realise how many folk I have said "Hello and Welcome" to over the years
4 - This comp has made me realise how many good folk there are on BCUK
5 - in future I will only be running comps for posts in multiples of 10 000, not 1000!

The number I originally thought of - and which I was suprised that no one got is ............... 666 - "The Number of the Beast"!
It just seemed too right to me ....
The Devil gets into Decorum and makes him say terrible things (he calls them jokes!) - only the Devil could want nice, kind, lovable me want to get violent (even with Decorum trying to wind me up!) and I have a Devil of a time when at RC meets organised by Decorum!
Seeing as no one got this right I am having to resort to plan "B" with the prize going to the poster that made me laugh the most during the comp ... and that has proved tough to adjudicate!
After long hours going through the posts - and I took Decorum off my ignore list to see what he had been saying (he may well go back on permanently!) - I have come to a non reversible decission.....

And it is a wierd one!

The winner is Decorum!
Not only were some of his posts actually funny (a first there mate - well done ......you can give up trying now) but his continual and futile attempts to wind me up kept me laughing over the whole period of the comp!

There were some close contenders (trifle/fridge door ...why stop ...etc) but in the end the outstanding effort (and result) were Decorums...
So, Decorum - you mad fool - PM me with the e-mail addy of your choice and it will be winging its way to you ASAP!

 Cheers for the comp John. It was great fun ~ especially when you discovered that I use different screen names on other forums :p .

1 - It has cost me the equivalent of about £200.00 in "give aways" (not inc P&P) to reach this point

That's almost a complete gear box :yikes: (:p :lmao: :sad6: ).

2 - I have had great fun with this comp

I suspect that you came second in that :approve:

3 - This comp has made me realise how many folk I have said "Hello and Welcome" to over the years

I had a quick look and a quicker think ...

You joined five days short of seven months before I did and, in the interim, you have posted approximately 400% more than I have ~ an average of _about_ 2,000 per year against my 2,500(ish) in four and a half years.

7,500 'Hello and Welcomes'?

Or a good chunk of welcomes and a whole lot more blether? :p :p :p :p

4 - This comp has made me realise how many good folk there are on BCUK

An educated man, but it can be a while before the penny drops (John really doesn't like to part with money :p)

5 - in future I will only be running comps for posts in multiples of 10 000, not 1000!

So, 20000 comp by Christmas? :p

The number I originally thought of - and which I was suprised that no one got is ............... 666 - "The Number of the Beast"!

The Number of the Beast is 616. 666 muscled in and usurped the original number after a series of bad press reviews :D .

The Devil gets into Decorum

Rosie reckons that you might have that the wrong way round :o

Not only were some of his posts actually funny

They are all funny*, it's just that you are learning to appreciate them. My humour must be growing on you ~ in it's own way it's a bit like a fungus (pun intended :p )

* For an unspecified value of 'Funny'.

...you can give up trying now)

I'll never not be trying ;) .

but his continual and futile attempts to wind me up kept me laughing over the whole period of the comp!

If they weren't effective I will have to redouble my efforts :p .

:pPerhaps my next comp will have to be based on Monopoly.
With 'Who can annoy 'someone' the most?' And the tie-breaker as 'And what with?'. :p
