Poplar Hawk-Moth

Whilst working a night shift last night i was visited by this chap.





Pretty sure it's a Poplar Hawk-Moth.
Excuse the quality of the pic's there from my phone.

Ha ha.....I am out mothing tonight, hope to catch one or two....Also the local bat group are comming along to catch bats to do a survey in the area....Should be good....

I caught a moth last week which I have been told is a hawk moth it had a pink underside and pink flecks on its wings

Yes, ok, we always record anyway so could do a list. I may not be allowed to take shots of the bats, there is rules about them.....

Any moths you perticulary want to see, I have shots of loads of them....

Anything would be of interest really, especially whats out and about at the moment.

Bats would be great, but i understand that you have to abide with any restrictions.

Had fun mothing last night, got loads, but the bat people didn't manage to catch any, even though they were about. I am going to start a new thread with pics and details of what was caught....
