do you grease your torches? what do you use??

i've got loads of good quality torch's, but haven't got a clue what to use on the O ring seals or the threads on the caps that you screw.

so do you grease the threads and/or O rings, and what do you use?

I grease the O-rings on torches with a silicone grease that I got from a dive shop. I bought it about 20 years ago in a 200 gramme jar, and there's still at least half of it left.

I use Vaseline because its what was available easily; I have a feeling the silicone is a better choice.
Strangely I cleaned up a Cree torch and it wasn't working properly after the clean; in despair I applied Vaseline to the threads at both ends an low and behold it works again. Somehow it must make a better connection possible?
If anyone really knows why this happened please let me know

Use a very small amount of silicone grease just smear it on the o rings and threads, if you use too much it just attracts and holds the dirt and causes more problems.
