So what plans, hopes or aspirations have you got for the forthcoming year?

Me personally, I'm hoping that the hospital consutants will be able to clear a damnable cough I've had dragging on since November 2024 and getting out a bit more.

Kidney stone operated on. Im getting tender and I fear its affecting me in other ways, though I too have had lingering bugs.

Not the bad sort, the sort it is often better to get out and do things than curl up and hibernate.

But, to have the kidney stone kick off would be seriously unfunny; I have seen people like that; its the kind of thing you dont forget.

Oh, yeah, fun stuff.

Another cruise.

I am refusing to jinx things, but I am quietly hopeful of good health.
Of being able to truly be engaged with the seasons as the year turns :)
It has been lovely being outdoors these last few icy cold but bright days. This time last year I couldn't step out the door, I couldn't breath, couldn't touch anything cold at all.

I want very much to be me again, be a valid part of things :D

In no particular order...

1) Build a large workshop I obtained planning on last year
2) Start loading home cast subsonic 303 rounds
3) Plant a few hundred more trees around our house
4) Cultivate more of our garden and grow all our Christmas veg.

With all my heart I hope you do :)

The only solid thing I have firmly planned is my first ever visit to Shetland - I'll try and avoid the murders :)

I have a load of projects in mind but, being realistic, I need to prioritise them!

What murders? dd xx

I hope and pray that everyone gets everything they want and more importantly what they need. Me? I hope to maintain my health and as a bonus move closer to getting a horse and growing more of my own food. I would love to be transport and food independent. I don't think that is a lot to ask ask but I know it is a lot of work. DD xxx

Ps I have nearly finished building my dray cart and will post some pictures soon if anyone would like to see it :) xxx

Primary one is hoping my wife is able to get settlement and then citizenship this year (she is a US citizen here on a spouse visa). We are really worried that some announced impending retrospective changes (in itself unprecedented) to immigration rules might impact us. Keeping fingers crossed and praying that it won’t. Honestly, there is nothing more important in the world to me than her and therefore this is my only wish for 2026.
