Both, I am trying to explain to a supplier of technical kit that things actually need to need tested both in normal conditions and in extreme conditions. That the data needs to be recorded so that I can answer technical questions. So far the response from the designer and manufacturer has been bordering on the edge of moronic. I wanted to be able to point out that, 1; a car engine in design stage is tested to destruction. 2, when a car is built the engine is run to ensure it works. So far this simple analogy is beyond them.
