Permethrin powder on mites?

Bought a surplus down sleeping bag and noticed yesterday small "mites" on the head end They look like tiny specks of dandruff but move on the fabric.
I propose a good dusting of Permethrin but wondered if others had noticed the little buggers on surplus and what they did to eradicate the problem?
Does Permethrin in powder form fit the bill. I don't have a washer or dryer big enough to deal with the size of bag and frankly don't want to wet it.
At the moment it is outside waiting for the sun to come out.

Yes and no.

It'll kill those on the surface but not those inside it.

Probably Cheyletus sp or similar.

Best bet is to take it to th laundrette and get a duvet wash on it.

It's a particular service wash done by laundrettes for duvets, sleeping bags etc

Stick it in a bin bag and fumigate?

When our chooks get mites I use permethrin spray on their accommodation, it works a treat.
