Does anybody have any nice quiet areas of the Pentland Hills that they enjoy going to? if so please share?

or any ware in the south east of Scotland that is quite nice?

I always thought the Pentlands were a bit naff for camping out, especially close to Edinburgh, the paths are just way too busy right through the year. Great for a bimble though.

Some of the areas further along the Lang Whang (A70) are a bit better but still a bit exposed for my liking. I've thought about camping near Blackness, there are some decent stands of trees around there.

I love a wander on the cleish hills just north of Dunfermline,not very big but quiet around the black loch and only 10 mins from me.
That is quiet when there's no racing at Knockhill.
