I managed to set fire to the O ring in a Tatonka burner I purchased from www.lakelandbushcraft.co.uk .I sent an email enquiring about another one and director Mark Richardson quickly replied saying they don't stock them but he'll try and rustle one up. This was yesterday afternoon and it arrived the next day.

Also, I made a purchase from www.ddhammocks.com which was prompt and I then got some unexpected birthday cash. I emailed and asked if I made another purchase could I claim the free tshirt for a £50+ order (in total). A lady called Penny agreed and again, the second order was posted that afternoon and arrived the next day (and post free).

Good service is worth mentioning and if anyone else has any suppliers they wish to mention feel free!

I've had similarly good service from Lakeland. Also very pleased with Tamarack, who consistently come good on customer service.

Similarly, good response times from Greenman Bushcraft and the Woodsmith's Store (for more specialist items).

I've been on a few course run by Maurice who owns woodsmiths store - he is a nice guy and gives great customer service. Its an excellent website for any kind of carving or forestry type supplies

thankfully there is still the odd few suppliers/shops that offer good service, i have often been dismayed at how some suppliers/shops treat the customer with disdain as if the customer is some sort of irritant, it is common for those on the net to have a '''contact section for enquiries''' but in my experience hardly any of them ever bother to answer your enquiry and just ignore you which i have always found infuriating, so rare is it get good service that when you do you really appreciate it. The few that i have got excellent customer service from are --- Needle Sports -- Endicotts -- Alpkit -- I would reccommend these three to everyone, they reply to your enquiries and their service is excellent.

I've needed a bloomin trangia seal for ages but can't get to the nearest outdor shop to see if they have one and postage would probably cost more than the things themselves!

Nice to know some places still have a good customer service, unlike some places *cough* Don't go to surplusandadventure.com as I've still not had my order nearly 4 months after. *cough*

Lurch managed to handle an order for a Kelly Kettle from Holland (my brother) for delivery in the UK (to me!) without any dramas.

I have also ordered various bits from Endicotts and Kevin has managed to deliver them on time and as described, even to a Youth Hostel 900' up in the Lake District on one occaision this year.

Cheers,
Steve

Springfield Outdoors, Alpkit and Backpackinglight have all been great for me. I've had some stellar service from ebay army surplus sellers too.

I only know of Lakelandbushcraft as having a great reputation both for being incredibly helpful but also incredibly fast, :D

I would also recommnend Alpkit, Bushgear and jlswednesbury. The latter two delivered knives to me exceptionally quickly, discreetly packaged but properly wrapped. Alpkit's Ti stuff is brilliant and it's delivered next day :)

They won't promote on the forum, but Leon1 and Neil1 run a small business making high quality leatherwork and clothing. Beautiful stuff and they couldn't be more helpful in making sure you get exactly what you are looking for.

Another +1 for;

DD
Tamarack
Alpkit

All absolutely flawless. Ordered 4 (discounted) tatonka mugs from Tamrack recently, got an email same day saying only 1 in stock what did I want to do, balance due in in 3 weeks. Was happy to wait and sure enough they arrived in 3 weeks. That's all you want when there's a problem, good communications.

(not used lakeland yet, may have to rectify that... :D)

Cheers,

Alan

I ordered* from Backpackinglight (BPL) and they'd slipped in a nice note and packet of skittles, which was quite groovy!

*(Vargo ti mug, a very good buy!)
