Back in September SWMBO and I took a canoe trip along the Lake Turner chain of lakes in British Columbia. It was an experience we'll never forget and got a few special photos on the way.

Heres a few I though might be nice to share.

Just plain canoeing

Thanks guys, there's so much more that I just couldn't capture on film (well disc I guess, now it's all digital). Juvenile bald eagle swooping from one side of a stream to the other nearly taking my hat off. Osprey fishing off the lake. The sound of loons echoing on the lake. An evening chat with wolves and bald eagles hunting on the Bella Coola river. As longs as I keep my marbles, I'll keep those memories.

Proper Job fella. One day I'll go on a trip like that.
I love the perspective shot of the reflected mountains.

Cheers guys.

Addo, if you want some company mate. It is so remote up there. The lakes are above 1,000 metres and only accessible by float plane. Hullen falls itself is over 250 metres.

There are bear up there, but sadly we didn't see them. Nice camping areas with tent pads, benches, fire grills and bear boxes. We were the only 7 people up there and the only people who could see these sunrises and mountains

cracking photo's :)

all i want to do is fish it !

did you have a go ?

I'm not into fish myself, but one of the guides fished on and off. We got three cut throat trout, 2 of which I gutted to learn how to do it. There were fish up there, but not really biting. You needed to either spend a lot of time at one of the inlets, but we wanted to see more so canoed on.

Stunning pics mate, i was canoe tripping for two weeks in september in new brunswick in a lake chain as well, Canada is a vast beautiful country, hopefully i will be back next year for another trip. how did you find BC?

They're stunning Jack. Such a vast space. I think we should do a Sussex meet away trip at some point....

YES, I tried to get people together to do a beach meet, but there weren't any takers. Canoeing the Wye, Symonds Yat to Horworthy is stunning. It's a two dayer and I believe there is a campsite along the way. When I did it we stayed in a pub at Ross on Wye. Bit of a drive, but well worth it. I know Neumo is up for some canoeing. I quite enjoy it and am thinking I might do a trip up to the Spey in May (if I've got a job) or even france. Might even be able to get SWMBO to come too as she enjoyed it, but I think the weather played a big part of that.
