Rare footage of an adult otter fishing for food has been shot in an Edinburgh city centre river.

When I lived in Aberystwyth I used to see them about once a week outside my living room window. Fantastic to see them coming back.

They get about these days, we even have them in Essex!

I was working in the Raploch in Stirling a couple of years ago and intended to take the kids along the river path for a ramble. We found otter tracks and a slide It was at the edges of a housing scheme and the woodland was full of litter and rubble, and there were otters...brilliant

Can you eat them?

They are so protected that your backside won't touch the floor as they throw away the key, it'd be headfirst straight in.

Otters are mainly carnivorous, and carnivors rarely make good eating.
