As someone who has a wooden handled one, no I wouldn't think the plastic version of the sheath will fit, but then it should come with its own plastic sheath. And yes a finger guard would be very useful lol, I find blood on the blade where my finger has slipped down from the handle and just sliced on the edge of the blade without me feeling it.

I will try and get a pic up tomorrow of the wooden version and sheath.

The plastic sheath on the plastic handled knives are pretty rubbish but on the wooden handled knives they are an even worse fit.

To be point of being dangerous i would say

Don't not buy the knife because of the sheath, they are great wee tools and making a sheath is a nice thing to do :)

The plastic sheath on my wooden handled one fits really well. I have to loosen it in the sheath before I can draw it. Mind you, it'll still get replaced by a leather sheath one of these days!
