I've gone on a few trips with my nephew Kevin. Summer 2008 I plan on taking on a few week long trips into the northern bush with myself and some others. Might take him down the river this coming fall when I get my new canoe. Till then we'll have to stick to playing at his parent's house with all my gear and his stepdad's teepee! :lmao:

Would there be any interest in creating a section of the site catering to the young ones (say 8-12) for them to share their bushcraft experiences and outings?

I have two here that would definatley be interested in posting the odd thread about what they get up to. What an excellent idea, how do we get this done?

I suppose they could post to the Sticky "Children's bushcraft". I'm sure Tony would like to see what sort of volume might be generated first before looking at the issues related to kids on a site.

My older one would like to post and wrote out a thread on her day out. Better they browse BCUK than Barbie.com

My 2 enjoyed your post very much and asked all sorts of questions. What is the content of the maths book like?

The site does not say much. Would you have an example?

I'll take a couple of pics of contents tonight, but its all good stuff, and aligned with the national curriculum. Its very clever as it ties in maths around bushcraft and outdoor skills, so there is navigation, shelter building, water, equipment and so on. Its basically information in a clear to understand format, with quiz's and tasks for them to work out, and for a fiver delivered you can't go wrong.

thanks.

My children are in the Bristish curriculum even though they are here in Malaysia so it would be good for them as they are keen little bushies.

Funny, was reading from the start thinking... "Oh I haven't seen so and so on here for a while". Then looked at the date. Great update, your lad still looks like he's having fun - and hasn't been put off. You make him forage his own stuff now? Cheers for the seven year update - must be almost a record on here?
Cheers,
GB.
