Can anyone ID these for me?? They are all near the River Mersey on fairly wet ground. Sorry, I cant say what the soil type is.

These are absolutely everywhere. The top leaf is the largest, and they get progressively smaller as you go down the stem. The leaves are in opposite pairs. The leaf in the sun shows the details the best.
