Definitely work well in my woodgas stove with a lighter, hadn't thought of leaving a bit of cotton wool unwaxed to aid lighting with a firesteel/rod, will try that next time if they don't work so well without the lighter when I try that next few days ie when it stops raining long enough !

Have also cut them in half as I suspect that it may not need a whole one most of the time, but again subject to testing !

Leaving a bit unwaxed ......sort of defeats the object of having a waterproof firelighter.....I just put a cross in the middle , break it open.....fluff the inner unwaxed fibres.....strike or light it....an boom boom boom......fire 😉
