New sharp shiny from Dave Budd

This is my new adze. Dave made it to my spec when I was down in his woods a couple of months ago. I've seen a chinese bowyer pecking away at a bit of wiood with a tool just like this one and thought I'd like to have a go. I've also got a couple of oak trenchers to make and I think this will probably be the tool for the job.

(Dave can't be blamed for the mask design - that's mine - giving this beauty a suit of clothes was a high priority)

Wow ! Thats dinky and having seen some of Daves work at the blade show,I know it must be sharp!!!!

The bit you can't see here is that you can knock the blade off the dovetail, put a straight handle on it and it becomes a gouge.

David, I can't see the pics of your sheath?

Glad you like it though I'm going to make a couple more up like that incase I need them for that feast course in a few weeks

Have you tried the head as a guage yet btw?
