New knife

[rapidboy]

This is my first knife from scratch.

Started out as a piece of 01 stock

half an hour with a hacksaw and a wee angle grinder and the blank was profiled

Then the fun began on my mates home made grinder

Over to StuM for HT and another couple of hours on the bench and it's done

Green micarta, red liners, NS pins OAL 7"

NIce one Rapidboy.......your such a bloody show off , it provides us all with somethin to chase , well done an keep em comin. How does micarta handle, i aint used it yet

Micarta is quite tough stuff, i find it easier to work than wood if using power tools because you don't take material awat as quickly but if using hand tools for shaping then it's hard going.
I had intended to take a lot more of the scales and make them quite thin but i stopped at this stage because it feels right and i want to use this one a fair bit , maybe as my work knife for a while.

Very nice indeed... I saw the blade up close, so I can safely say that, if the handling is as good as the grinding, which I am sure it is, you have something to be very proud of there...

Just adjust the tracking so the belt is to one side of the platten and keep it steady.

I think that's enough now although i always fancied a Lone Wolf Loveless City Knife in green micarta
