New carving

Hi, a returning customer from Inverness Highlands wanted a female flat backed wall hanging with a 'nice' face to complement her other carving. Now I don't normally attempt 'nice or normal' much preferring the more demonic look! anyway I came up with this 12" Hawthorn Shieldmaiden...with a twist. I hope my customer likes her

thanks OLO not sure, been messing about with twigs for about 10 years I think? just moved on from there.

Nicely done

I did my first 'Face' the other day, his nose fell off as I had some pith in the wrong place and my SAK blade folded closed on my finger, although not badly. Anyway, one can aspire thanks to pics like that

Great work, I will take this off you if your client doesn't want it. Was thinking of asking you to make me one but I also want a "nice" face to not scare the kids.

Thanks Mike thing is Woodspirits, crones and Hags were MEANT to scare the kids and adults too! To protect the forest.
