I know what you guys mean about snobbery. I went on a posh pheasant shoot one, not realising how posh it was. I used a over / under. I did joke that I should have brought my 10round pump. They all said... what a bit of fun that'd have been. They are easy to proove safe with a chamber flag.

I am just putting in a variation for an underlever for boar and deer as well as a muzzle loader for the same I want something different to my usual stalking kit and going back to non scoped proper hunting ,atb wayne

well i have been looking for either 45-70 or a .444 but really struggling to find either of the right age for reloading and casting I have seen a nice 30-30 that i am going to put a deposite down on whilst i talk with the feoso it will be a stop gap till either comes along as really i think the 30-30 is a little under gunned but loaded right will be ok I would really like abit more knock down power especially for the driven boar as thier adrenalin is up, on the muzzle loader i have spoken to a few kiwis who use these to great effect it will be one to come out of the cuboard on occasions I would like each species with all my cals as a different challenge, atb wayne

Mmm I've had a go - lively little beggar - oddly I really like the laminate & stainless version - very tempted.....

I do like the look of them in stainless but not sure how practical it would be for me i think too shiney I would like an early version if possible before remlin took over and the particular one that really gets me going is a hex barrel but they seem to be like rocking horse doo, i am seriously thinking about importing one. I have successfully imported from europe so i am sure i can sort it for a us import, atb wayne

Easy enough to dull the stainless - but its rust proof and "all weather" - the same as the laminate which really appeals to me. I like the full length tube giving 6 in the magazine and ghost ring sights over the normal buckhorn. Aesthetically I prefer blued steel etc. but there are a whole lot of practical reasons why that particular design works for me. Be brutal in the shoulder being short and light of course

I've been wanting one of theses for a while now. Barbara has one in 44Mag. I'd like the one in 357 but wouldn't be too picky TBH.

Interesting rifle that - be a bit redundant for me as I have a Marlin 1894C in 357 Great gun - very handy
