new boots

i've just been down the surplus and bought a nice pair of web tex boots. they have a thinsulate lining and gortex. i think there kick bottom for the price. £75

They're good boots for the money. I paid about £40 for a brand new pair on ebay about five years ago and wore them once for a weekends tramping. I put them away then for a rainy day and the next time I took them out the soles had perished and were falling to bits for some reason

I gave them to a mate a few months ago who had them resoled with Vibrams for £22, he's now wearing them nearly everyday and he loves them.

Managed to get to Endicotts in Exeter (200 mile round trip) top grab a pair of German Para boots Mk4 I think. Dead comfy, good size with new arctic socks too, hopefully no more cold feet Also picked up a Dutch patrol pack, must admit Kevin sorted me out, a sound guy with what looked liked a well stocked shop, will definitely be back for more.

I've always found them to be good as well. Amazed me they take special care in selecting the best stock, something I had never found any surplus supplier do before. Helpful as well.

Only downside is the website isn't always updated on time, so check before you drive there if you have your eyes on something!
