The banks of the Deveron.
I love my axes. I have quite a few. I always find they have poor masks and even the leather ones from GB fold and are then prone to slicing.

So I made something a bit beefier for my hatchet.

If I make myself clear :)

There are some truly over-engineered axe masks out there, kinds where you're more likely to hurt yourself getting it on and off.

That looks like lovely work. I'm looking to make something similar for my axe. What thickness of leather did you use, any rain why you chose to stitch it as oppose to rivets, anything you would do differently if you had the opportunity to make another one?

looks great well done ! as you mentioned my GB one came with a standard one and it sliced straight through it after a good sharpen

Thanks.

I prefer to stitch for some reason. I do quite a lot so my hands are used to it now.
