Hi all, I made one net:

And I feel ive caught the net making bug.

But I'm curious about the history of nets and net making; can anyone give me any info, or point me in the direction of interesting reads?
Or any uses for them other than the norm like purse nets, fishing nets.

Cheers, Dan.

Bridport is one well known net making town, a few of my ancestors used to work for what was known as Gundry's back then.
There's a net/rope museum in the town, can't say I've ever been in there but they're bound to have a wealth of information.

Nice net by the way.

Hello Dan,
That is a very nice net, congratulations and welcome to the world of net making.
There is an entire "Nets and Net Making" forum to explore. Look at the Photos and Projects sections to see other uses for nets. Then go on to Hammocks, Specialty Nets, Links, Instructions and all the rest. Please join us and post a picture of your net at:
