Nice thread from all of you oop North! And spectacular photos to boot! I can remember flying around the the Northern Irish coast at this time of year and climbing up to play amongst the orange clouds in a royal blue sky! - it felt like I was in the middle of a cartoon, the light was so surreal... Living now in France the seasonal light changes are not so pronounced - although it has other advantages; and when in the tropics I used to like being able to set my watch by the sunset (and normally the rain too).
As an expat Southerner it would be easy for me to say "You've three days left of this before it starts turning and in six months you'll be eating lunch your by candle light!" - but this thread gives me a fine nostalgia for those, oh so long, summer days - as well as the joys of overcoming the challenges of harsh winters. I guess that's one of the fundamental pleasures of "Northern" living - the polarisation of the seasons...
