Natural works of art..

Whatever you think about spiders, you have to admit they can produce some beautiful works of art. I took these pics this morning, the webs were everywhere, all the more visible due to the dew on them and the bright sunshine back lighting them.

The pics don't do justice to the real things, because the context in which they were taken is missing: you can't feel the dew, the warmth of the sun and the brightness of the light.

What would be the most beautiful work of natural art you've seen?

I studied spider silk as part of my physics research...

If you could make a web as thick as a pencil, from dragline silk (the one they hang from), it would be strong enough to stop a jumbo jet in mid flight!

I could go on & on & on, but won't - lovely stuff, and some cracking photos!
