Having advertised on the Members Classifieds for a bushy knife, this is the knife I decided on. I do believe I have made the right choice especially for the price I paid.

I do have one question about it though, It has Tufnel scales which I presume are like a kind of Micarta (Not really knowing much about them! )
The thing is (and don't get me wrong because this is not a problem!) they have a whitish colouring to them and I was wondering if there is anyway I can make them a bit darker?

Any ideas?

I would pm Dougster regarding the scales. He is a man in the know!
Tufnol will last a lifetime and more.

oh yeah, nice knife too mate! :D

Hi Greg, nice knife matey. First off, it's Tufnol. It's a name like Micarta and yes, similar to Micarta as well. You say it has a white-ish colour to it? I'm wondering if it's the end's of the fibres. Try finishing it with finer grades of wet 'n' dry. If you use grades fine enough, it should go. PM me your address, i may have something which will help!;) :D

the "whiteness" is just the exposed fibres, probbably because the handle has been sanded to about 120/240 grit to leave it feeling grippy, if you want to smooth it out a bit just use progressively finer and finer grades of wet and dry paper until you get the colourt and feel you want.

also, i think tufnol will darken with age anyway?

edit: beaten to it :)
