My first knife

Hello there,

The blade was ordered at Brisa, the handle is made of deer antler, bison horn, leather and curly birch. The antler is from a dutch deer.

I did not made the sheet, it was part of a knife kit I ordered at Brisa, Finland.

Please let me know what you think of it.

Best regards,

Jan, Meteren, The Netherlands

I actually made it for her, sometimes you'll have to give her something......and it works me for me as well, next time when I want to go to the woods with her she will be happy to go along with me to use her knife..... or does that mean i'll always have to take her along?

Nice work, well done! That looks really good. I was thinking of making a knife for my girlfriend as well, might work either way as you said penvisser!
Maybe we should start a section for bushcraft wifes and girlfriends (BWAG's) :lmao: I taught my girlfriend the other evening to bowdrill with an ivy hearth and drill, she had an ember within an hour! Not bad i thought.

Its beautiful.

I cannot believe its your first knife

Well, it really is my first knife. I have bin to countless topics however before starting at making the knife.

I also make balsa floats for carp fishing and one of my hobbies is working with wood. Since I was at the age of 7, under my father's supervision, I was playing with tools and wood in our barn, so I can say I have some experience in making things.

First I am making it in my head, that takes the most time. Than I make it with my hands, and normaly that is the eassiest part.
