Hello I needed a safe sheath for my favorite knife and this is what I came up with. Straight grown birch which I split, glue, thinn leather and linen thread was used. There is a "click" sound when you put the knife in the sheath that I like :). It wins no beauty contest but it works and was fun to do. There are still some minor things to do on it...

Nice work,I might have to try making one like that for my Traditional Mora knife,As I hate the Plastic sheath it came with,it doesn't keep the knife safe at all.

Forest Fella.

A quick tip to make the Mora sheath a bit safer is to put a piece of small diameter inner tube over the sheath at the knife sheath junction, then double it over itself to increase the grip if needed.

Sounds far more complicated than it is.

I've also used some of that double sided velcro gardeners use for tying plants up instead.
