So if you were going to go for a compact and small axe which one would it be!?

I really like the look of the GB mini hatchet, but its not cheap!

Then theres its slightly bigger brother in the wildlife hatchet. . . .

What do folks reckon, its main use will be some light carving work and aiding the dressing/jointing of small game.

Are there any other tools that I've missed?!

Cheers

Drew

Go for the wildlife. The mini is too..well, mini. It is harder to carve with a mini as more effort is needed. The wildlife is a little too small for me. The handle is narrow and it torques a little on impact. But i'd take it over the mini anyday. Who's handle is even thinner

The Wildlife can do all the jobs the mini can do plus the jobs the mini is too small to do. Personally i think the SFA is better than both for carving. Or better yet the carving axe.

I would look at vintage axes before considering Gransfors.Cheaper,More choice, quality steel....
I dont get the attraction of gransfors hatchets.

Sorry.
