Alright everyone, this is a long shot but is anyone bringing any excess gear for swaps? I'm desperately after a grey or green wool army blanket to make a woodsman's overshirt out of... I've got a pair of cold weather trouser liners in large(36-38) I could swap, failing that let me know what you're after. I could make you a sheath for a mora or a cruisader cup lid or something like that instead. I know I could buy a blanket from Endicott's but times are tough, I'd rather swap things I don't need! Cheers, Chad

would you be willing to dye a wool blanket Chad? Only reason I ask is I've got some white/cream wool blankets I'd be happy to swap.

Not sure what I'm after though but we can haggle at the meet :)

Alright Mesquite

I've never had a go at dying wool but if it can be done I'm well up for it! If I don't have anything you're interested in I can happily part with some beans. The reason I didn't want to mail order one was because of postage, I'm sure it would be worth more than the blanket or equal to it. Thanks for that, see you at the meet!

Hi, I'm thinking of coming along...if you'll have me? is there any pictures of the site from users on the forums? I cant seem to find any.

Will there be places to hang hammocks or is it an open field?

Thanks

There should be a fair chunk of pics knocking about in previous Meet threads - I'll try to remember to lob some into this one later today.

Hammock, bivi or tent ~ plenty of suitable spots on the pitch for each :D

Guess you lot are already down there now, but I'll be popping along Sat tea time ish. Mrs says I can have a pass out till Sun, if I come back with some hazel rods for making some woven pannels for a log store. Hope thats ok, I'll bring a chainsaw to help with clearing the pitch mentioned earlyer too.

Catch up then :D

Cheers all, great meet. Glad I made it down in the end.

As I was about to leave I got a second wind after my morning of lethergy ;) , and got plenty of poles so cheers for that Dec. I'll clear plenty more along the power lines next time now I know how much needs shifting.

:)

What do you mean

Weather was spot on, as always. Well apart from the last great flood there. Think we must have had all the bad weather for the rough close meets in one weekend on that one. :umbrella:

I think the wood at Rough Close is one of the best ive camped in. Very diverse in native species and age, and a joy to look at this time of year.

As always it looked like a great weekend, just a pity we could only manage an "overnight" but even so great for a chill :approve: Hopefully next time we will have nothing else on to interfere.

Thanks to Decorum for organising another great meet! I'm really glad I made it as it'll probably be the last of the nice weather, definately one to remember. I've never seen so many nice knives in one place! It's always good to put faces to names and I'm looking forward to the next one. Hopefully see you all there again!

Thanks to all for another fun and chilled weekend. Always a pleasure to meet the old hands, the new faces and the 'unusual suspects'.

It's been a bit hectic since I got home, but I'll try to post a couple of pics soon.
