Ever since the Bolivian Fighting Midgets I've been wary of trusting online news pages.

This one today had me checking the web page to make sure it was for real. Seems to be but still hard to believe.

Theres a bloke up this way who,
...when out shooting for Monseuir Reynard, was putting his loaded rifel into the passenger side of his pick-up truck. Over the back of the passenger seat was a pile of feed bags and bailer twine, standard farmyard fair - some of which became entangled in the (ahem) operating lever. It discharged, muzzle down and caused a hole in both wheelwell and associated tyre. His embarrasment was only heightened by his explanation to the local tyre shop owner of how he managed to produce such a neat hole in a tyre.
Thankfully his lesson was learnt, but I'm not convinced that the same thing won't happen to someone else before too long.

Fireamrs are designed for a number of purposes, but "changeing a tyre" is probably not near the top of the list of features of the design criterion.

Funny thing is, I actually can think of a perfectly reasonable way to use a shotgun to remove a stuck wheel nut - although I wouldn't necessarily fancy firing it afterwards...
