The quickest and simplest way I've found to make mead that has great results. It can be tailored to taste
Really fresh honey should work excellentMight have to have a go at that as we've still got loads of honey from this years extraction. Cheers for the demo.
Have yet to experience the hangoverThe best with mead is the wonderful drinkability, the worst is the awful hangover.
I recall several berserk strength hangover from my stupid youth!
You know it makes senseI am definately doing this now! I've refined my rhubarb gin and sloe gin. Best to add mead eh.....!

raisins are just for nutrients not flavour but hey hoIt's got fruit in ...It's not mead
Also bottled water is not sterile. It is merely pathogen free, it often has a higher bacti count than tap water.
yeah I'm experimenting aswell but as you can tell I'm not really into being accurate with names and alike lolI'm not sure a few raisins would mean you have to call in a melomel. I've used a squeeze of lemon juice and a glug of cold tea in mine, I doubt I need to call it a tea and lemon methegling-melomel! You could use yeast nutrient if you wish.
I've got a bit of honey left over from out bees too, well, a few hundred jars, so plan to make a lot of meads, metheglins and melomels this year.
