  • Merry Christmas Guest, we hope that you have a great day wherever you are, and we're looking forward to hearing of your adventures in the New Year!
that is so sad, at such a young age, being a social care worker i have sat by many old peoples beds and held there hands as they passed away, but to go so young, there is no justice sometimes in this life, guess we should all remember to keep in touch with friends and take the time to enjoy each others company, for whats around the corner none of us know...............................

I lost my best four legged and two legged friends within 6 weeks of each other earlier this year. Both tragically early.

I have to say that it has been considerably harder before I have been able to deal with it better, seek the counsel of your other good friends when times get hard.

I feel for you, my thoughts are with all those who share the pain.

You have my sympathy Firecrest it is hard to take when you lose a friend but worse when they are so young. My wife is in hospital at the moment, went in yesterday for the 4th time for similar reasons, infections in wounds from previous stays in there. It started with a wound the length of a finger nail, and after 4 ops to remove scar tissue and diseased flesh she now has a 9 inch wound 3 1/2 inches deep. Now she has to see a plastic surgeon to do the same again because of hospital infection.

Im really sorry to hear that, I hope she is ok. The awful thing is, you have to keep going back into the hospitals to sort out the infection, which is the LAST place a person with an open infected wound should be.

If could only tell you some of the horrific stories my wife has told me in confidence you would thank your lucky stars. She is a district nurse and see's some very strange things being pulled out of wounds apparently "fixed" in hospital.

I lost my dad to cancer last year in a spanish hospital where i was amazed at how good the care/cleanliness was. Firecrest you have probably been told this by plenty of people but the pain does pass. It never goes away but it does ease with time. My only advice would be do something every so often that triggers a memory and makes you appreciate what's not here - for me it's a pint of london pride every so often. But not one always two - one for me one for him. All the best mate.
