I think many folk are put off caving by being taken in a big group of newbies. Hysterical reactions can be catching and it is an environment where other peoples stupidity can get you killed. With a small group who know what they are doing it is a beautiful and peaceful environment. Do have a go if you get the chance.

Although if anyone wants to go caving, the Descent is a must watch before going.

Sorry couldn't even finish reading the link. Makes me feel extremely ill even thinking about it I hate confined spaces. Took me years to be able to sleep sober in a tent as I didnt like the enclosedness of it. Thats what I like about my tarp and bivi! Open sky and fresh air!
