I bought a pair when I was lucky enough to be in New Zealand a good few years ago. Their prices have certainly gone up since I was there but the trousers remain utterly bomb proof. They no longer stand up on their own and look a bit battered, simply because I didn't follow Cactus's recommended washing regime, but this is one pair of regularly worn trousers that will almost definitely outlast me.

They're not a purchase; they're an investment.

I've never seen the company before but if they do what they claim to, I appreciate the design philosophy. Much rather buy once than many many lesser quality items. Many people would happily drop that amount on a knife or a backpack.
