Hi Folks
I'd be grateful to hear of any scraps of oak and elm I could scavange in the Rossendale Valley, East Lancs.
What I am after is green wood that would only usually be fit for burning to cut into either a 4" x 4" by 12" block to make a dug out hearth tinder or small planks say a 1/4 to a half inch thick by 5 or 6 inches wide by maybe a foot long.
With the winter fast approaching I fancy lining up some shed projects and have the urge to make a sulphur match board, variations on the wooden hearth tinderbox a well as wall candle and salt boxes and maybe a tavern pipe rack like in local museum.
Thanks for any pointers
