Well, long story. A couple of years ago, I bought a Hansvik 550 Profi. Had a Honda 60 hp put on.
Goid boat, but very limited soace when 3 or more people fished from it. Also, as only 5.5 meters, it did not like too big waves. Also I had ptoblems sitting and fishing from behind the centre console, boots got trapped, legs got trapped.
In March this year I could not fish because of the horrible weather. Wife told me she would like a larger, so I started looking.
Then an offshore company had a vessel moored here, and they had a really cool tender.
A hard rib, made by Helgeland Plast, boat line called Polar cirkel.
To keep it short, I ordered a hybrid between the 785 Fisher and 785 Workboat.
As my local boat mechanic is authorised dealer for Mercury, and I wanted to give him business, I ordered from him a Mercury Verado 225.
Enough with a 200 hp, but the 225 is a 6 cylinder = smoother.
He did a few more modifications. As the engine got delivered from outside Norway ( none in stock here) he had a short time to install it, so no depth and fish finder. Plus the propellor is slightly oversize, needs replacing. Plus a couple of wirk lights and spotlights needs to be installed.
Todays we went out a few hours. I got the largest cod, about 10 kilos which is not bad for summer.
Wife got two cod, around 5-6 kilo each. The fillets will be frozen and taken back to Cayman
Loads of mackerel. We saved 6 fillets for tonight, will grill them.
Then we bagged about 15 round cleaned mackerel, bait for the halibut line for next winter trip.
We only kept the mackerel that were severely damaged by the hook, the rest we released back.
