I'm sure we've all seen pics/posts like the one below...Preying on the stupid, seeking engagement... This is just one example. But how far does it go?

I'm sure you see things like this... show us the beauties you've come across.

There's always time/room for a laugh.

SciManDan spends a lot of time debunking all the flat earther theories out there.

Can't see how that would take long. But kudos to him for putting the effort in :)

I bet they do that as a t-shirt?
Or a pillow/cushion/poster/mug.

I'd like one that says "bad things don't always happen to bad people. But bad things often happen to good people".

And you're saying the seas were formed from rain?
Whoa, that's a lot of rain! Doesn't it run off the edges of the planet into space?
I've only seen 'Live ,Laugh ,Love ' - which I may well get tattoo'd

For a while I was collecting pictures of ornaments to hang up in the kitchen with cutesy passive aggressive slogans about how much thankless housework mum was doing and how she was drinking red wine to cope. It's a whole genre of object, it's so mysterious to me and also sad. Imagine getting that as a gift from your children.

Anyway, to answer the OP, look up AI slop images. They're wild, things like Jesus rescuing an airline stewardess but Jesus is also a prawn because the computer got confused (I love prawn Jesus, it's like a window into this lovecraftian world). They have emotive things like babies, bibles, veterans etc and often they spread because all the people commenting on them are also bots.

(It's astonishing, wondrous, but also worrying from a safety perspective, how impressive AI is at making photos and even videos which seem real)

Agree to the AI Deep Fake concern. I do wonder if you get to a point where we no longer 'need' actors if they can just make a film with their digital selfs and cut out the Hollywood.

Wait til you find out about AI being used, using real people’s online accounts, to fill the internet retrospectively with false information.

Thats my amazon prime delivery driver kept busy without my personal interaction then. :)

AI isn't a threat, it is too busy making dodgy images of people with three hands and 6.5 fingers per hand or internet porn from images on someone's insta account!! Seriously, with teenagers in control you will run out of electicity supply and porn memes before you will see AI take over the world!!!

BTW I do think that ALon Musk is a teenager in adult';s body and I do not think Trump has even got into double mental age figures yet. And that is not political because I have not said anything about whether I agree or not with their political views. I also think Boris was a young teenager in an adults body but with a nerdish interest in the classics. As for Biden, I think he was an old body wrapped around an even older mind. Is there anyone else I can crticise in a non polictical way? Truss? Corbyn? Oh how about Prince Harry who is a ginger body with an American prince hunting gold digger with her hand up his 'arrris speaking for him. Oh I am in that mood today, sorry.

Just out of curiosity, what would you use AI for? What killer use do you think you would find most useful?

One last point if any of the above has ruffled you....

Keep calm and carry on!

It'll soon be Gin o'Clock.

As a management consultant I was constantly irritated by trite trot outs pinned to office walls. These were sold by trendy office supply businesses as “motivational!”

“No pain no gain!”

“Whatever does not kill me makes me strong.”

“There is no I in team.”

…….. and similar bullocks.

And separately
As an armchair philosopher, whenever I read “I think therefore I am.” I want to throw the book at the wall - which could be unfortunate as it’s usually a Kindle!

Edited to add:
I originally opted out of this thread because I thought that @HillBill was taking an anti-science stance that I would avoid. As most people know the OP illustration is one of the currently accepted hypotheses.

I think I might be going off topic (sorry, my cage has been rattled now), but.. if you want some nonsense platitudes on an almost daily basis (and who doesn't) get yourself a box of Yogi tea. The swing tags on the string have some beauties!

Delicious tea though.

Edited to add: what Pat said.

??? Like... the Cartoon bear from Yellowstone?

Whatever does not kill you, leaves you scarred, probably maimed for life.

There is no I in team, because team often means groupthink or drowning out individuality. It is meant to drive you back into your "place" and keep you in check.

All this manic "positive thinking" and "inspirational counselling" that is being pushed nonstop has people questioning their own sanity.
