Had a go at making one of those OzhaggisHead Sporran pouches. Used some leather scraps I got from eBay and bit of green canvas I had knocking around. I'll be the first to admit it's a bit rough and ready but I enjoyed the project.

I had the chance to make a knife sheath under Black Sheep's expert eye at the Steadhall Wood meet and it really kicked off my interest in this skill.

Cheers!

I like that nice to see something different, the canvas is a nice idea, good attempt there for first one :)

Thanks all for replies :)

Might have a go at making a sheath for my Laplander next. Need to get some decent leather first I think.

Any other good novice projects you could suggest?

I really need to get my finger out and start doing more leather work. I've several knives that need sheaths!

I've been thinking of a skills trade - get some one to teach me leather working basics and I teach them some blacksmithing! The practicalities might make that impossible though. :/

I'd say a laplander sheath is probably a good place to start Copper Head!
