Latest Leatherwork - Wallets & Book Cover

Dreadhead

Bushcrafter through and through
Thought I'd share some of my latest works. I knocked up these wallets this week as I had some designs I have been wanting to carve for some time now. As usual, they are all cut, carved, dyed, and saddle-stitched by hand. Cowskin outers and Goatskin inners. One of these was a commission, one is a gift, and the other five are up for sale (will be in makers market shortly).

And lastly, here is a wee commission I took on just before I went overseas in July. My friends sister was getting married on the shores of Loch Tay on their farm. My friend sent me a drawing of where they were to take their vows and asked if I could make them a photo album cover as a wedding gift. So this is what I managed to come up with:

Amazing work as always Hamish... particularly like the black bear wallet. That's a thing of beauty right there.

Grand stuff there as always, Hamish, but the album cover is really something special; they'll surely treasure that! :)

"Knocked-up" :D
Love the casual way you talk about pieces of art. Truely beautiful work mate, can't believe that you continue to get better. In all the time of looking about at artists or at work on the net I've never seen better.
Who'd've thought that something you took up to keep you busy while recovering would have turned into such work.
Truely impressed.

Sent via smoke-signal from a woodland in Scotland.
