Thanks. As I mentioned earlier, the bolster was a lot of work but definitely worth the extra effort.
I'll say it will have been! Great work, I do like this one a lot. Simple combination of materials made to work very well, and wonderfully finished.
Right, lets make a sheath!
I design my sheaths on the computer. This way I can easily repeat them if needed. Here's the paper template taped to the leather. I'm using 3mm veg tanned cow hide.
Shape cut out, edges beveled and stitches marked.
And dyed, ready for stitching. Not sure what was going on with the light here but the colour isn't that funky in real life

Still need to trim and burnish the edges but had to knock off to pick up the little'un from nursery.

Jeez Mike. Are you using a 7 stitch per inch wheel?

Thanks Niels. Yes it has a welt, here's a better pic I've just taken
5 per inch mate. with a 7 (which i had initially) you need more thread and more time to sew. 7 times the length in thread than the stitch line for a 7pi, or 5 times the length for a 5pi, lot quicker, just as secure. Sae yourself the time mate, ( sorry for spelling mistake, the key between c and b aint working. Son spilled juice earlier....not amused lol )
