I finally have an email from Wiston.
They want £92 for six of us for the weekend, and it'd be extra for anyone else.
That's including firewood I hasten to add.
If folks are still up for this, and given the late date, and that the site looks busy, then I need five others to sign up as definite in the next day or so.
This is the email from Wiston, and I'll pass on the invoice details so folks can see the breakdown if folks send me a pm with email details (it's a pdf file thingie)
Basically for six folks, including firewood, it'd be £15 each for the weekend.
Hi Mary,
Please find attached the invoice for your Bushcraft gathering at the end of the month. The invoice is for the minimum of 6 that we require for the tipi site, any more people beyond 6 can pay when they are here. The cost of camping in the tipi site is typically £10 per person per night, however because we have taken down the tipis and the parachute over the campfire to limit possible storm damage, we have reduced the cost to £6 per person per night.
Unfortunately a group has filled the cabins that weekend (in fact we could have filled them 2 or 3 times!) so i'm afraid there won't be a bed available in the cabins for you. Likewise the house is full too. If this is a problem for you let us know and Wendy will see what she can do when she returns from holiday on Thursday.
Please also find attached information on camping and using the tipi site.
We look forward to welcoming you to Wiston again.
Kind Regards,
Peter

I have both a smallish parachute and a tarp. Firebowl and accoutrements and the muckle great kettle
Happy to bring them along. I also have a huge stash of fomes needing broken out and boiled up and worked into amadou if folks want to do some for themselves
Heaven alone knows what the weather gods have in mind though
I'm too sore to sleep chilled at night just now and expect to get up and be able the next day, but it's only half an hour up the valley for me, so I don't mind just coming back down the road and back up early next morning. It's pretty much a five minute drive to the M74 both coming and going. Happy to chip in my fifteen pounds worth towards the fees though.
It's a good site
Parking's easy and safe, the hill is literally straight out of the back and upwards, it's accessible by both car and bus (or train to Lanark and wee bus to Wiston).
