Knife ident please

I have a new knife, cost me 20p, the previous owner thought that it may be Norwegian?

puukko was used for finer tasks,the leuku for bigger tasks like butchering reindeer,chopping wood etc.

Puukko's mainly used for carving,fishing,hunting etc.Not sure on one as small as yours though.

jealous, very jealous!!! looks very scandi style to me. dont the helle knives used the sam brown type studs on the pommel like that so the sheath has retain them tighter

Silly me, I should not mentioned the 20p then I could have offered you a swap :11doh:

I remember my Dad having one like it in the early 70s.It was indeed a companion knife with a Leuku in a double sheath and had a leather retaining strap.I think that one came from Norway but I was young and may be wrong.Not sure if he still has it.I will ask.

Puukko this small was probably meant for a tourist piece or a show of the skill of the smith. The handle shape was first used by Marttiini. I'm quessing post-1920s.
